Les Silences de Médéa
Les Silences de Médéa is designed to be a feature film adapted from Malika Madi’s novel of the same name.
It tells the story of Zohra, a young Algerian woman who goes from being a teacher in Médéa , Algeria, to marrying an older widower also from Algeria who lives in the suburbs of Paris with his 5 children of Zohra’s age.
Her difficulties to adjust to a different culture and reconcile with her tragic past will highlight the differences between the two cultures and shed a light on the history of the 1990’s.
Malika Madi and Daniel Julien completed the screenplay in November 2009 and plan to shoot a couple of scenes in Paris in September of 2010.
