The office of Disabled Student Development is sponsoring the event and it is celebration of “Women’s Week 2011.”
Professor Najma H. Javed who knew Miya when she was a little girl will be present for the Q&A session following the screening.

Achievement Award film recipient “Miya of the Quiet Strength” is being played on Saturdays at 3 p.m., Sundays at 5 p.m., Mondays at 8 p.m., Wednesdays at 10 a.m., and Fridays at 5 p.m.

Screening at 3:40 p.m. at the Gaia Arts Center, 2120 Allston Way, downtown Berkeley, as part of the Culture/Disability/Talent International Superfest, a festival dedicated to films made by disabled people or about disabled people.
Director Daniel Julien, other crew members and Sonya and Renato Rodolfo-Sioson will be present for the Q&A session following the screening.

Screening at 2:45 p.m. at the Historic Malco Theater, 819 Central Avenue in downtown Hot Springs, Arkansas, as part of the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival, a major festival dedicated to documentaries from around the world.

Iowa City, Iowa premiere. A Q&A session with the film's director, Daniel Julien and members of the UI/Iowa City community who appear in the film will follow.
Location: Buchanan Auditorium in the Pappajohn
Building on University of Iowa Campus.

Other events leading up to the premiere include:
*Brown-Bag Luncheon at the Women’s Resource & Action Center on April 8 at noon. They will also have a photo exhibit on display April 1-25.
*Commemorative ceremony before the steps of the UI Old Capitol Building on April 10th at noon. Ann Rhodes will be featured speaker in a ceremony to honor and acknowledge the passing of Miya Rodolfo-Sioson on December 3, 2008. A procession to lay a wreath at the T. Anne Cleary Walkway will close the ceremony. Sioson family members and UI friends will be in attendance along with film director, Daniel Julien.
*Please look for us on the Iowa City pedestrian mall in April. Miya of the Quiet Strength t-shirts and buttons will be available.
